We finish up the book of Acts this week and we see the Lord pursuing His people in Malta. This pursuit of God ought to encourage us in many ways as it confirms the words of Christ that He will lose none of those whom the Father has given Him. We are held secure in the arms of our beloved Savior. The stories in the last chapter of Acts summarize the entire message of Acts. As the Creator pursues His Church through the person and work of Christ, not everyone who hears this message of hope will believe, but those who do will be held eternally secure as a child of the sovereign King of all creation.
Come worship the sovereign Creator this Sunday morning as He strengthens us through Word and prayer in corporate worship.
Song of Ascent: When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
Call to Worship: Psalm 99:9
Song of Praise: Pearly Gates
Corporate Confession: Hebrews 10:19-22
All: High and holy God, we are not worthy to approach Your throne, but we come boldly through faith in Christ to confess our sin and seek Your forgiveness. We have openly sinned against You by not loving our neighbor and idolizing ourselves. We have sinned in secret in ways too numerous to recount them all to You now. Wash us clean through the blood of Christ, draw near to us, and receive us as beloved children. We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
(A time of silent confession before God)
Promise of Forgiveness: Hebrews 10:10-14
The Affirmation of Faith The Heidelberg Catechism Q. 50-52
Leader: Why is it added, “and sits at the right hand of God”?
People: Because Christ is ascended into heaven for this end, that he might appear as head of his church, by whom the Father governs all things.
Leader: What profit is this glory of Christ, our head, unto us?
People: First, that by his Holy Spirit he pours out heavenly graces upon us his members; and then that by his power he defends and preserves us against all enemies.
Leader: What comfort is it to you that “Christ shall come again to judge the quick and the dead”?
Answer: That in all my sorrows and persecutions, I, with uplifted head, look for the very same person, who before offered himself for my sake, to the tribunal of God, and has removed all curse from me, to come as judge from heaven: who shall cast all his and my enemies into everlasting condemnation, but shall translate me with all his chosen ones to himself, into heavenly joys and glory.
Song of Rejoicing: There is a Fountain Filled with Blood

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
